A self esteem group geared to spreading the word of God by sharing with young girls how to see their value in every thing they do. Lakesha is the CEO and Founder of Miracles, a non-profit that shows her heart of service. Miracles in Motion was started because of seeing the miracle that God did in her daughter, Dalaney, who was born with various disabilities. When Lakesha asked God what she had done to make her daughter like this, God told her nothing, but that it was about Him showing His miracles. What better way to show more miracles in motion than to serve others? Lakesha is committed to serving individuals, nourishing families, and communities. She has served others for over 25 years in various settings. In church as a youth Sunday school and Bible study teacher and a youth dance ministry leader. As a parent consultant for Columbus City Schools, she provided unique learning perspectives to engage parents and children. Miracles in Motion partnered with Columbus Public Schools in 2013 to facilitate a poetry club in several elementary schools that lasted until 2019. She has worked with adolescent youth and adults in addiction treatment facilities. She has also created programming to engage and assist youth, individuals, families, and seniors in community centers. Lakesha is a graduate of Columbus State Community College with an associate's degree in mental health, chemical dependency, and developmental disabilities. She is a graduate of Capital University with a bachelor's degree in social work and a certificate in gerontology. She obtained her master's degree in social work from Case Western, with her focus being on youth and families. Lakesha has used her life and educational experience to promote health in the body, mind, and spirit. Her dedication to service has allowed her to do just that.
