Leading you through the history and creation of your own witches candle Join The Cap City Crone for a magical evening of merriment as she shares the lore around, and leads you through the crafting of your own Mullein (Verbascum spp.) hag torch. A century old tradition. Hag torches have been used in ritual, ceremonies, as a smoker cleansing tool, and as seasonal bonfire starters. We’ll cover plant lore and history. Growing, ethical foraging, harvesting practices. Getting to know the incredible mullein plant better. You’ll choose your mullein stalk to dip in beeswax, and embellish with your choice of dried herbs. Tips on how to safely burn your torch will be covered as well. All herbs used in this class have been grown, harvested and prepared onsite. Participants will each leave with their own hag torch as well as a better understanding of this magical plant!
