Her groundbreaking new book, Fighting for a Foothold, offers a powerful examination of how historical anti-Black policies have evolved into modern-day fiscal challenges — highlighting the ways public policy, race, and resource distribution continue to shape communities today. Drawing from extensive ethnographic research, interviews with civic leaders, and policy analysis, Dr. Simms challenges traditional "color-blind" policy narratives and offers critical insights into the relationship between race, governance, economics, and public institutions. 📖 Learn more about the book: russellsage.org🌐 Learn more about Dr. Simms: drangelasimms.com
