Together, you’ll prepare a refined yet comforting Parisian bistro menu that celebrates the beauty of simplicity, the balance of flavors, and the art of French technique. The evening begins with a steaming bowl of French three-onion soup, where layers of onions are slowly caramelized to bring out their sweetness, then steeped in a rich, savory broth. Next, you’ll fire up the grill for the iconic steak frites—a classic pairing of juicy steak and crispy hand-cut fries. Learn how to perfectly sear steak, create golden shoestring potatoes, and make a delicate herb-infused aioli that transforms this humble dish into something extraordinary. A green salad with a poached egg rounds out the meal, showcasing the elegance of French simplicity. Then, for dessert, prepare the legendary Crêpe Suzette—thin crêpes bathed in an orange-infused caramel sauce and flambéed for a dramatic finish. You’ll master techniques for caramelizing, grilling, emulsifying, and flambéeing, leaving with skills and confidence to recreate this elevated bistro experience at home. Participants will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class, so please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and long pants, and tie back long hair. Aprons are provided.
