If you are not available for the 11th Annual Shakespeare in the Park event on 9/26, never fear! We have a SECOND SHOWING, this time with AIR CONDITIONING! Join us at the new Kevin Brady Community Center to see that lovable scoundrels Falstaff get hoodwinked by the clever and mischievous women of Windsor! The Merry Wives of Windsor is Shakespeare’s love letter to the brilliant women in his life. Written on request of Queen Elizabeth, Merry Wives is the only Shakepearean play that doesn't deal with royalty or the supernatural, but rather the common people of the day. This makes it easily Shakespeare’s most relatable play to modern audiences. Everyone understands jealousy, love, and most importantly making sure someone gets the comeuppance that they deserve. While the audience should not feel sorry for Falstaff, they definitely should laugh at his folly. The Wives spend all their time completely outsmarting all the men in their lives, and its worth celebrating. So sit back and enjoy the most unserious play you will ever enjoy from the Bard, The Merry Wives of Windsor. Sponsored by Montgomery County Precinct 3 and the Kevin Brady Library.
