Beyond Division 2026: Constructive Engagement in a Fractured World

Join us for a practical, two-hour negotiation workshop facilitated by Clear Communication Solutions and presented in partnership with the Institute for Global Negotiation. This workshop is part of Beyond Division 2026: Constructive Engagement in a Fractured World, an international initiative of the Institute for Global Negotiation taking place from September 21, International Day of Peace, through October 24, United Nations Day. The Institute for Global Negotiation is an independent nonprofit association dedicated to improving the understanding and practice of global negotiation among students, academics, and practitioners. Through Beyond Division, facilitators around the world are creating opportunities for people to strengthen how they navigate difficult conversations, disagreement, and division. The workshop will be hosted at the Clayton State University Innovation Center, with priority registration available to CSU Launch participants. Together, we will explore what constructive engagement requires when: • Trust is low • Emotions are high • Perspectives collide • People see the issue very differently • The relationship still matters Participants will practice curiosity, emotional regulation, intentional listening, reframing, and constructive dialogue. We will also explore how to move through conflict without immediately treating the other person as the problem. What to Expect This is a practical and highly interactive experience. Participants can expect guided discussion, personal reflection, real-world scenarios, and opportunities to practice the skills being introduced. No prior negotiation experience is required. Space is limited to 20 participants, with priority registration available to CSU Launch participants.
