Please note: Featured artists will not be appearing or performing. This is a DJ-led listening experience. SOUND: From Toronto’s dark, atmospheric blend of hip-hop and R&B to OVO’s global evolution, the night moves through five eras — Toronto After Dark, The Blueprint, Beyond the Six, Midnight Frequency, and Forever in Rotation — blended by resident DJ Rasta Root with guest selector Fonderr. SCENE: Jungle (2015), directed by Karim Huu Do and starring Drake, on the big screen in the Courtyard — exploring Toronto, childhood memories, and reflections on fame, identity, and the city that shaped OVO Sound. Deep Root Sound & Scene is part of Block & Drum's ongoing series of DJ residencies and curated music sessions. 🎶 What Awaits You: • The Eras of OVO: A five-part sonic journey from Toronto After Dark (2009–2013) through Forever in Rotation (2021–present). • Drake & the OVO Universe: Drake alongside the artists, sounds, and global influences that shaped the evolution of OVO — from atmospheric R&B and hip-hop to dancehall, Afrobeats, and Caribbean sounds. • Jungle on the Big Screen: Watch Jungle (2015) in the Courtyard. • Inclusive Atmosphere: Whether you’re a seasoned vinyl enthusiast or new to the scene, our event welcomes everyone.
