School Reimagined - Experience Mount Vernon

Navigating innovation needs a guide. Experience the culmination of a decade of transformation at the Mount Vernon School. As a school of inquiry, innovation and impact, The Mount Vernon School continues to reimagine what school is and does. Closing the gap between real life and school life, we have been on a transformational journey for a decade and can empathize with the opportunities and challenges you are navigating. Comprised of two distinct experiences, join Mount Vernon Ventures for a full day of transformation! Part I: School Reimagined - On this expedition, you will join members of the Mount Vernon team for a half-day of deeper learning and connect with expert practitioners on a guided Learning Walk. Experience how Mount Vernon looks at the whole child (PK-12) through the lens of real-world project work. Topics will include Design Thinking, Inquiry Based Learning; Inter/Multi/Transdisciplinary Learning, Innovative & Flexible Spaces, Maker, Design & Engineering, and Competency Based Education with a focus on personalization. Part II: MVV Design Sprint - An experiential workshop that will focus on your school's needs. Using Mount Vernon's focus on regenerative school culture and design thinking methodology, Compass, participants will use a design thinking framework and see what the 4 D's (Discovery, Define, Design, and Deploy) can look like at your school. After the morning Learning Walks, participants will break for lunch and debrief with faculty and admin team members.
