Learn a new way to wrap your Christmas gifts this year! This culturally immersive experience will take you on a trip to Japan! Hosted by Afrodesiac Collective — a space for cultural curiosity, creativity, and connection. Join Afrodesiac Collective for a beautiful, culturally immersive evening inspired by Japanese traditions and the art of thoughtful gift giving. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover Japanese gift-wrapping traditions and learn how presentation can be just as meaningful as the gift itself. You’ll be guided through simple yet elegant wrapping techniques, exploring beautiful folds, fabrics, and finishing touches inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Japanese gift wrapping is rooted in ideas of care, respect, simplicity, and attention to detail. This workshop offers a chance to slow down, get creative, and experience the beauty of turning an ordinary gift into something truly special. Throughout the evening, enjoy Japanese music, light snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere that brings together different elements of Japanese culture through the senses, creativity, and shared experiences. No previous experience is needed. You’ll be guided step-by-step and encouraged to experiment with different styles while creating beautifully wrapped gifts you can proudly give to someone special. Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a creative date night. Leave with new wrapping skills, beautiful creations, and a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture and the art of thoughtful giving.
