Souvenirs takes audiences on a musical journey to Italy and beyond, featuring acclaimed Italian guitarist Nicolò Spera, one of the few guitarists to perform on both six-string and ten-string guitars. Nicolò particularly loves collaborating with ensembles and discovering or commissioning new works with guitar. The program features two world premieres, newly unearthed in Italy from the early 20th-century composer Mario Barbieri, alongside Leo Brouwer’s Beatlerianas, Boccherini’s Fandango, and more. This extraordinary pairing of string orchestra and guitar promises an evening of discovery, virtuosity, and beauty.
