This Is Not Therapy: Fundraising Cabaret

THIS IS NOT THERAPY A pop/rock fundraising cabaret about invisible illness, human connection, and learning to love the life you never expected. Life doesn't always follow the script, but sometimes the best way to tell your story is through a Broadway song. This Is Not Therapy is a heartfelt, humorous, and deeply personal fundraising cabaret exploring the realities of living with chronic illness. Through musical theatre favorites, candid storytelling, and plenty of laughter, Jonathan Scheppegrell and a talented group of friends explore the challenges of invisible illness, body image, relationships, self-worth, and finding joy in life's unexpected turns. The purpose of this cabaret is to raise funds to help Jonathan undergo a complete dental reconstruction. Years of living with Crohn's disease and complications related to chronic nutrient malabsorption have contributed to significant deterioration of his dental health, making extensive restorative treatment necessary. The funds raised will help offset the substantial costs of rebuilding his smile, restoring dental function, and improving his long-term oral health and quality of life. At its heart, This Is Not Therapy is more than a fundraiser. It's a celebration of vulnerability, connection, and the reminder that life doesn't have to be perfect to be worth living.
