Detroit played an important role in Prince's musical journey, making it the perfect city for Morris to premiere this new concert experience. It was also where a single masterclass with Crescendo Detroit grew into an ongoing partnership, inspiring Morris to create a one-of-a-kind opening performance that gives young Detroit musicians a rare opportunity to share the stage with him. What audiences will witness before the concert begins is more than an opening act. It's the result of a partnership built on a shared belief. At the heart of this partnership is a simple belief: young people deserve the opportunity to learn from artists who look like them, understand their journey, and have walked the path before them. Sharing the stage with Morris Hayes and acclaimed Detroit musicians is more than a performance. It's a chance to see what's possible. "If they can see it, they can be it." Damien Crutcher, Founder & CEO, Crescendo Detroit Sharing the Stage Joining Morris Hayes on stage are acclaimed Detroit artists Gayelynn McKinney, Maurice "Piranhahead" Herd, and Raine Baker. Chosen not only for their extraordinary talent but also for their lifelong commitment to education, mentorship, and giving back, they represent the very best of Detroit's musical legacy while inspiring the next generation to take pride in the city they call home.
