*REVISED* Introduction to Pattern Making

Using 1/2 scale slopers to manipulate into new styles of patterns. We will also make some 1/2 scale muslins (samples) to test the patterns. This 1 day seminar is led by Leslie Henley. (lunch will be provided) • What are patterns and how do I even start to make one?! • Drafting and Draping. • Measurements and Fit. • Muslins and Testing. • Patterns vs. Slopers, how do we use them to make different styles/designs? • Intro to the concepts of rotation, pivoting, slashing and spreading. • We will discuss ease, fulless ad negative ease. • We will work with ½ scale slopers to explore darts, necklies, collars, sleeves,cuffs, and skirts. • You will learn the basics of drafting patterns and incorporate the necessary markings. • We will make a few muslins(samples) to test the finished patterns. All supplies will be provided!
