Legendary Mo Amer headlines an evening of laughs at The Comedy Bar, Detroit's premium comedy club experience. • 2-Item Minimum Per Guest • Valid ID Required for Entry • First Come, First Served Seating • No Outside Food or Beverage Mohammed "Mo" Amer is an award-winning comedian, writer, actor, director, and producer best known as the creator and star of the Peabody-winning Netflix series "MO," inspired by his experiences as a Palestinian refugee seeking asylum while growing up in Texas. "MO" was certified fresh by Rotten Tomates with a rare 100% from critics, and was named one of the best shows in 2022 and 2025 by the New York Times and NY Magazine. The series also garnered Amer a Gotham Award, AFI Honors, and a Televisoin Academy Honor. A globally touring stand-up comedian who has performed in more than 50 countries, Amer has released three acclaimed Netflix comedy specials: "Mo Amer: The Vagabond," "Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas," and "Mo Amer: Wild World." Born in Kuwait to Palestinian parents and raised in Houston after fleeing the Gulf War, Amer's work is celebrated for blending sharp humor with deeply personal storytelling about identity, displacement, and belonging. Additional credis include "Black Adam", Hulu's "Ramy", and Apple's upcoming season 2 of "Bad Monkey." COMEDY CLUB MAIN ENTRANCE LOCATED IN BACK OF BUILDING OFF OF PARKING LOT. Shows will be held on the lower level of The Norwood Theatre building. — Most tables seat 4 total guests. You may be seated with strangers if your party has less than four guests. — All shows are 17 and over. 21+ to drink. —2-Item Minimum (soft drinks, beer, wine, and liquor)* — 20% gratuity added to all checks. — No dress code. — Shows run about an hour and 15 minutes. — Doors open 45 minutes prior to show-time. Arriving at least 15 minutes before the show is always a good idea! — Seating is first come first serve with a strict no-call, no-show policy.
