Hike for Hope - Chicago Basecamp Event

We will be hiking at Bullfrog Lake in the Palos Preserves doing a loop that is approximately 3 miles long that we estimate will take 1.5 hours. It will take place on a narrow, dirt trail that is relatively level with some moderate incline of approximately 180 ft overall. The current conditions are dry, but can change due to weather prior to or on the day of the event. Please check the weather to ensure you are dressed appropriately. Time: 8:30 - 9:00 check-in at campground office; 9:00 - 11:00 hike Trail: ~3 mi, 180 ft incline, dirt trail. We will mostly be following this trail. Meeting point We will meet at the campground office, a 4 min walk from the roundabout past the 'CAMPING Bullfrog Lake' sign. There you will find bathrooms, maps, snacks, water, and a pretty view of Bullfrog Lake! We will walk to the trailhead together as a group. Parking FREE parking is available on site! You will drive in until you see a roundabout parking area - please park there. If it is full, you can park in one of the lots you will have pass on the way in. Mobility-limited and handicap accessible parking: you will drive PAST the roundabout until you get to the office where there are designated parking spots for you.
