This three-hour immersive experience is inspired by the origins of Zentangle. It is not about being an "artist"—it is about the process of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. By focusing on one stroke at a time, we quiet our minds and enter a state of relaxed flow. During this session, you will: • Discover the meditative foundations of tangle-inspired art. • Learn to create intricate patterns from simple, deliberate lines. Experience a unique "brain-rest" that reduces stress and sparks creativity and an added gift, a framed piece of your own artwork. About the facilitator: Kathy Shaw Burnside is an artist of many talents. At this time in her journey she's developed from a bookbinding artist into a junk journaling artist. This art form has its roots in bookmaking, and includes recycling and upcycling. The art form encompasses many of the paper arts genres--watercolor, origami, Zentangle, just to name a few. Kathy presently teach classes at Alamance Arts in Alamance County. Kathy is passionate about her art, and this really comes through in her classes.
