Saxophonist Ed Jackson will have his full band featuring Ed Jackson on Saxophone, Yoichi Uzeki on Piano, Marcus McLaurine on Bass, and Lionel Cordew on Drums. The Jackson Room, which is located in the heart of historical Queens, happens to be in the neighborhood where Ed grew up. This particular area of Queens in the town of St. Albans was home to an uncanny number of musicians including Count Basie, Fats Waller, Illinois Jacquet, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, and Lenny White, to name a few. In fact, John Coltrane lived on Mexico Street which is just a few blocks away from the venue. The Jackson Room has provided Ed with a chance to fulfill a more personal mission of enhancing Queens’ cultural landscape by bringing jazz back to the community. Location: 192-07 Linden Blvd, St Albans NY 11412 Please note: If you can not make the show for any reason and wish to view the Live Stream performance instead, you can register by clicking here: $10 Live Stream Ticket.
