Family Arts Bash Saturdays presented by NY Presbyterian

This series of family-friendly workshops invites kids ages 5-12 to explore gallery exhibition themes through hands-on art activities. Learn, play and grow with us! The Family Arts Bash Saturdays series invites children ages 5-12 to explore ArtsWestchester’s gallery in a fun, hands-on way once a month when an exhibition is on view. Through gallery tours and arts activities led by professional artists, these playful afternoons bring exhibitions to life, encouraging a deeper understanding of the themes behind the artworks on display. • Create Music with Bach to Rock: How can you create music without playing an instrument? Join Bach to Rock’s beat-making instructors for a demonstration on the fundamentals of making songs using samples and loops. • Glitch Face Portraits: Create a simple self-portrait with a "glitching" screen effect by cutting and pasting colored-pencil drawings into slightly offset horizontal strips. • Data Skin Printmaking Imagine skin covered in "data” with prints that use simple designs inspired by binary code, QR-code-like patterns or barcodes on paper body silhouettes. Activities are subject to change without notice.
