Roots to Renewal: A Green Careers Reentry Summit

Co-convened by Fordham University and The Institute for Justice and Opportunity (IJO) at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the summit will explore how green career pathways can expand access to quality jobs and economic mobility for justice-impacted New Yorkers and their families, while ensuring their experiences and perspectives help inform how those pathways are built. The day moves from conversation to action, beginning with a candid City-State Fireside Chat and solutions-oriented discussions on reentry and workforce pathways, followed by an interactive Green Careers & Community Street Fair featuring workforce and service providers, the Bronx Green Jobs Center, a NYC Decarbonization Mural activation, community engagement, food, and live music. Because a just transition is not only about transforming our buildings, infrastructure, and communities. It is about ensuring that the people who have historically been left out of economic opportunity have a meaningful role in shaping, building, and benefiting from what comes next.
