Brick City Comedy Revue

Newark's premier comedy showcase for over 12 years! Hosted by Justin Williams and DJ Gonzalo Silva. This month's show features: Alexis Guerreros is a comedian, TV host, and self-appointed pizza authority who turned a chaotic Newark upbringing into a career of saying the loud part out loud. Raised by a single Cuban mom with a rapid-fire chancleta wrist and a house full of loud relatives who roasted each other for sport, Alexis learned early that if you aren't funny, you're target practice. That quick-witted, no-nonsense upbringing shaped his signature stand-up style: brutally honest, fast on his feet, and ridiculously sharp. Kendra Dawsey is a stand-up comedian and writer based in New Jersey. Their razor-sharp wit and engaging delivery has earned spots opening for Eddie Pepitone, Jenny Yang and Michelle Buteau, and they’ve featured as the Comic-in-Residence at the renowned Comedy Studio. They’ve been on Kevin Hart’s “Lyft Comics” on the LOL Network and had their work featured in Revolutionary Spaces’ online talk show, “Tea Party Tonight!” They’ve also got a weekly Twitch show, “Left Night with Kendra Dawsey.” Dawsey’s comedy combines abrasive criticism, raunchy set-ups and whimsical punchlines – something for everybody in the audience. Wilson McDermut is a New York-based stand-up comedian and licensed clinical psychologist who frequently blends his academic background with comedy. Performing under his own name and the moniker "Dr. Wil," he has performed stand-up since 2008, appearing at major New York clubs like Broadway Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live, and Caroline's on Broadway. Special guest co-host: Bryant is new to the stand-up comedy scene but has been performing for a long time.
