Annual State of Science in ADRD: Integration of 4Ms

AFHS 4Ms Conference: Advancing age-friendly, person-centered care through What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility. Join us at the State of Science in ADRD: Integrating the 4Ms The State of Science in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) event will focus on advancing evidence-based approaches to dementia care through the integration of the 4Ms Framework—What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility. Expert speakers will present current science and practical applications across the continuum of care, emphasizing person-centered, age-friendly strategies. Key sessions will address current updates in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), ethical issues in the care of older adults and available community resources, ADRD screening and diagnostic tests and how to implement them in practice, and medication-related issues and considerations when caring for older adults. Presentations will provide practical, evidence-informed guidance to help healthcare professionals and community partners strengthen early identification, improve care planning, address ethical considerations, and support safe and effective care for older adults and individuals living with ADRD. Overall, the event will underscore the importance of integrating clinical science with the 4Ms to promote coordinated, compassionate, and high-value care for individuals living with ADRD and their caregivers across healthcare settings. Registration will start at 7:30am outside of the Rio Grande Summit Room. This activity offers free Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) contact hours, courtesy of The University of Texas at El Paso College of Nursing. Social Work Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered at a cost TBD.
