Spirits Class - Blind Vodka Tasting

Blind taste vodkas and guess their provenance with Evan Christie While blind tasting can reveal many things, one of the most exciting features of a blind tasting is the way it allows you to cut out distractions and focus just on the thing in front of you. This event may not be enough when facing the most difficult challenge in the world of spirit tasting - vodka. The most popular spirit in America, vodka is primarily noted for its neutrality. In fact, under American law, the flavor of vodka should be essentially neutral, yet despite this, there are small differences in body, aroma, viscosity, alcoholic burn, and even in taste. In this class, you will blind taste a set of vodkas. They will range across prices, production methods, base materials, and every way this spirit can be distinguished. You will have the chance to discuss the features of each, and eventually to guess what sample each bottle represents. This is a chance to cut through all the marketing and pretty bottles that make up the vodka market to learn where the distinctions truly lie.
