The Agonal Gasps is a post-punk band from Athens, Georgia that goes to the roots of what made frontman Dusty Gannon fall in love with goth rock so many years ago. After the end of his last band Vision Video, Gannon seeked to create a new act that was more visceral, raw and cut to the bone by bringing sounds from influences like Killing Joke, the Sound and Bauhaus. Contrasted to Gannon’s often humorous and tongue-in-cheek personality “Goth Dad” on social media, the music explores themes of war, genocide, mortality and systemic abuse. The messages are political and controversial and give the listener a mirror to help understand the insanity of the modern world.
