For the mothers who survived. For the mothers we still have time to protect. There are mothers who should still be here. Some women survived peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM). Some are still healing. Some are learning to live with the changes heart failure left behind. And some mothers did not make it home. Behind every loss is a family, a child, a partner, a sister, a friend, and a story that deserved a different ending. Hope FORE Hearts was created to bring our community together around maternal heart health, wellness, awareness, and support. Join Let’s Talk PPCM for a community charity golf event honoring the mothers we've lost, celebrating the women who survived, supporting families affected by maternal heart conditions, and helping protect the mothers who come next. This Is About More Than Golf Pregnancy and the postpartum period can bring major changes to a woman's heart and body. For some mothers, those changes can signal a serious cardiac condition. PPCM is one example, a rare form of heart failure that can develop toward the end of pregnancy or in the months following delivery. Warning signs can sometimes be mistaken for normal pregnancy or postpartum changes. A mother may know something isn't right and still struggle to be heard or understood. Through maternal heart health education and community outreach, we want to help: • Increase awareness of maternal cardiac warning signs • Encourage women and families to know what questions to ask • Connect families with reliable maternal heart health resources • Support women and families affected by PPCM and other maternal heart conditions • Bring healthcare professionals and community partners together • Create opportunities for wellness, education, connection, and prevention We cannot change every loss. A local news station may attend the event to help share our mission and raise awareness of PPCM and maternal heart health.
