Discover the "third way" through AI: leading change without sacrificing trust, authenticity or human judgment. Pro Institute Presents "The Third Way: How Communicators Lead the AI Shift and the New Rules of Trust." As artificial intelligence reshapes how we work, communications professionals face a critical challenge: how do we embrace new technologies without losing trust and human connection? Join the Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication Graduate Program for a conversation with Bob Hutchins, Ph.D., author of What AI Reveals: How Artificial Intelligence Exposed What Was Already Broken: And What We Can Build Instead. Drawing on research in AI, media, organizational psychology and human behavior, Dr. Hutchins explores what AI reveals about the systems and measures we often mistake for genuine expertise. Rather than framing AI as a simple story of opportunity or risk, Dr. Hutchins offers a "third way" that helps communicators, leaders and educators navigate technological change with greater clarity and discernment. Attendees will gain insights into the evolving relationship between technology and trust, the role communicators play in shaping AI adoption, and the human capabilities that become more valuable as automation advances. In addition to these insights, participants will leave with practical ideas and actionable approaches they can apply within their own organizations. This event will give teams the tools they need to navigate AI-driven change while strengthening trust and human-centered decision-making. Attendance Options In-Person Experience • Check-in, lunch and networking begin at 11:30 a.m. • Connect with fellow communication professionals, students and industry leaders. • Free parking. Virtual Experience • A fully online attendance option is available. • The keynote presentation begins at 12 p.m. for virtual attendees. Whether you join us in person or online, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of how communicators can lead during a period of rapid technological change and help shape the new rules of trust. Can't stay for the entire session? All registered attendees will receive access to the presentation materials after the event, making it easy to revisit key insights or catch up on any portion you may have missed. This event is hosted by Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication Graduate Program and Story and Strategy.
