Event details Friday, October 23, 2026, at Tower Theatre for the Performing Arts 815 East Olive Avenue, Fresno, CA 93728 Door Open: 6:30 PM Showtime 7:30 PM About the film Not In Our Town’s new film Minnesota Neighbors profiles Minnesota residents’ brave actions during ICE’s Operation Metro Surge this winter. Millions watched escalating racial profiling and violence in Minnesota. After two U.S. citizens were killed by federal agents, tens of thousands of Minnesotans used their voices, presence, and know-how to stand in compassion with those harmed and affirm their commitment to democracy and the rule of law. The film portrays immigrants who spoke up, clergy, journalists, teachers, local officials, doctors, restaurateurs, unions, business owners, and families who overcame fear to stand up for each other and for Americans’ freedoms. Their stories offer guidance, hope, and inspiration for communities everywhere. Central Valley Neighbors: Spectrum of Solidarity After the film, local leaders will discuss the spectrum of solidarity for Fresno and Central Valley neighbors. Facilitated by Christine Barker-Dominguez of FIRM, the panel features Jagmeet Singh of Jakara Movement, Nkauj Iab Yang of Cal Defense, and Nora Zaragoza-Yañez of Faith in the Valley. They will reflect on the film, present realities in the Valley, and opportunities for local action. Proceeds after costs will support travel funds for people being released from detention across the region** This screening is made possible through a partnership between Not In Our Town, Tower Theatre, FIRM (Fresno Immigrant and Refugee Ministries), and the Jakara Movement, with support from Sierra Health Foundation and Central Valley Community Foundation.
