Mary Brown Special Guests: Hayley and Zachary Hungerford of Hyssop Floral

32nd Diversity Lecture Series Speaker What does it mean to truly make room for one another in shared educational environments? How do we cultivate student agency, active listening, and healthy boundaries in today’s learning landscape? In this unique lunch-and-learn workshop, we bridge modern floral design and educational philosophy. Featuring a live arrangement demonstration by Hyssop Floral alongside conceptual facilitation, we draw on the core themes of Ikebana Unbound—naturalness, movement, balance, and simplicity—to investigate how space is shaped. Experience how the deliberate choices behind botanical art serve as a powerful metaphor for intentional teaching and student engagement, empowering us to rethink relational power and foster genuine agency for our students.
