Queer Wellness Center Ribbon Cutting + Reception

Join Queer Wellness Center as we celebrate the opening of our new Greenville home, a new hub for queer community and support. We have a new home, and we want to celebrate it with you. Join Queer Wellness Center on Tuesday, November 10 at 3:30 p.m. as we officially celebrate the opening of our new home at the Merovan Center in Greenville. The Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce will lead our official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a reception with food and drinks, tours of the new Center, and an opportunity to learn more about what is ahead for QWC. QWC offers many support services and has also trained more than 2,000 professionals through AFFIRM, helping businesses and organizations across South Carolina build more affirming environments. This new space represents much more than a new address. Queer Wellness Center currently serves more than 75 people every week through free, therapy-led peer-support programs, and our new home gives us the opportunity to serve our community in even more ways. Our vision is to create a true third space for queer people in the Upstate, a welcoming place outside of home, work, or school where people can safely spend time together without having to spend money just to find community. The new Center will include: • Free, therapy-led peer-support programs • A queer literature library • A community closet with shelf-stable food and other essential resources • Arts, crafts, and creative activities • Space for future book clubs, art clubs, social gatherings, and community programming • A large community room available for meetings, workshops, and events • Opportunities for other queer-centered nonprofits to gather, Now, we are building a permanent home where that work, and so much more, can continue to grow. Come celebrate this next chapter with us. Whether you are a longtime donor, community partner, local leader, business owner, volunteer, supporter, or simply someone who wants to learn more about QWC, we would love to welcome you into our new space. Tour the Center. Meet with our Executive Director Evie Bates and various board members. Connect with others in the community. Learn about ways to get involved. And help us celebrate what is possible when our community has a place to call home. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly for food and refreshments.
