In this hands-on class, you'll use a wood lathe to turn a custom wooden pen body, assemble it with a professional pen hardware kit, and walk out with a finished pen that writes beautifully and looks even better. Pen turning is one of the best introductions to the lathe — it's quick, satisfying, and you'll have a finished project in your hand by the end of class. You'll learn how to mount and shape the wood, sand it smooth, apply a finish, and press-fit the hardware. The result is a one-of-a-kind pen that makes a perfect gift or a daily carry you'll be proud of. No woodworking experience needed. Our instructors will guide you through every step.
