Dive into the wild world of Vikings and uncover what really sparked their legendary Age of adventure and conquest. What Caused the Viking Age? Explore the forces that sent the Vikings surging out of Scandinavia by diving into the hidden currents of power, survival, and ambition behind history’s most audacious explorers and how these forces sparked an age of sail, raid, and trade. Free Admission RSVP: www.bristollib.com, 860.584.7787 x 3, or visit the library. Ceilidh Burdick is a public historian specializing in the European Iron Age, with a heavy focus on the Viking Age. In addition to degrees in history and art from Salem State University, Ceilidh Holds an M. Phil in Viking and Mediaeval Norse Studies from both the University of Iceland and the University of Oslo. She is a Fellow of the Leifur Eiríksson Foundation and a founding member of The Pursuit of History.
