Housing Hub for Veterans is a chill spot to find housing help and connect with fellow vets in person. Welcome to the Housing Hub for Veterans! Veterans and their families are invited to join the Waller County VFW and Prairie View A&M University Cooperative Extension Program – Community & Economic Development for a special Veterans Housing Hub focused on homeownership and home repair assistance opportunities. Whether you are interested in purchasing a home, need help understanding home repair assistance, or simply want to learn what resources may be available to you, this FREE event is designed to help you get informed, ask questions, and understand your next steps. 🏡 Learn About Two USDA Rural Development Programs USDA Section 502 – Direct Home Loan Program Learn how eligible low- and very-low-income households may qualify for USDA financing to purchase or build a home in an eligible rural area, including information about eligibility, payment assistance, and the homeownership process. USDA Section 504 – Home Repair Program Learn about loans available to eligible rural homeowners for home repairs and improvements and grants that may be available to qualifying homeowners age 62 and older to address health and safety hazards. What Should You Bring? To help USDA representatives discuss potential eligibility and next steps, veterans are encouraged to bring available documentation such as a government-issued photo ID, Social Security numbers for household members, recent pay stubs, VA benefit or retirement statements if applicable, DD-214 if available, federal tax returns, recent bank statements, and information about current debts. Homeowners interested in repair assistance should also bring available property and repair information. Don’t have every document? Come anyway!
