Water, Color and Wonder: An open art table at The Abbey

Come play with water and color. No experience needed, nothing has to be perfect, and everything is free. In the old abbeys, the scriptorium was a place where monks made beauty by hand, filling pages with color as an act of prayer and attention. Here at The Abbey we keep a table for the same kind of making, with a lot more play. Come play with water and color. Let paint bloom across wet paper, mix colors and see what happens. Make a mess, or make something you love. No experience needed, and nothing has to be perfect. Led by Kathleen, we approach art as a bridge between ourselves and the sacred, between ourselves and one another, and between the different parts of ourselves. Sometimes that bridge begins with a single brushstroke. Watercolors and other materials are provided, and everything is free. Come for ten minutes or stay all afternoon. Bring a friend, or come and meet someone new. May beauty awaken wonder.
