The Natural Circularity of Vintage — Claire Cahan, Schuyler Smith, and Armen Minasian

Giving good design a second life Join Claire Cahan and Schuyler Smith, the duo behind newly launched vintage furniture shop Furniture Picnic, alongside Armen Minasian of Minasian Rug Company. Drawing on Claire and Schuyler’s backgrounds in architecture, design, and making, and Armen’s extensive knowledge of the reuse and repurposing of vintage rugs, the conversation will look at the potential, and challenges, of giving well-designed pieces another life. Together, they’ll consider how we can support and expand Evanston’s network of vintage, reclaimed, and reused materials, and what it might take to make reuse a more integral part of the local design community.
