Historical Sewing Meetup

Stitch through time! Bring your personal project and join the Chicago Historical Costuming Society for a social open sewing night. Step back in time—or bring a touch of history into the present! Join fellow fiber artists, costumers, and crafters for an inspiring open sewing social hosted in partnership with the Chicago Historical Costuming Society at the Mood Fabrics Chicago Showroom. Whether you are piecing together a period-accurate garment, working on a modern project with a historical twist, or just looking to connect with a passionate local community, this session offers a welcoming space to stitch, shop, and share advice with other makers. • What you will do: You will work on your independent sewing or hand-crafting projects, swap tips and tricks with historical costuming enthusiasts, and enjoy parallel crafting with fellow Chicago creatives. • What to bring: Bring your current sewing project, pattern, fabrics, and any specialized notions or tools you need to build your creation. Sewing Machine Availability We have 10 Janome MOD-15 Easy-to-Use Sewing Machines (featuring 15 stitches, adjustable stitch length, and 5-piece feed dogs) available for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer! Class Registration & Cancellation Policy Refunds for the ticket price are available for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the event start time. Please note that Eventbrite’s service fees are non-refundable, so you will receive a partial refund equal to the ticket amount minus those fees.
