Taste Chicago originals in a multi-course night featuring iconic local food and drink brands. Original Flavors of Chicago is an in-person, multi-course food and drink event for the general public, ages 21 and over. Event details • When: Wednesday, October 21st, 6:30 PM–9:00 PM • Where: Pizzeria Due, 619 N Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60611 • Your ticket includes: A multi-course experience About the event Chicago food and drink names come together for the inaugural Original Flavors of Chicago: a single-seating experience that spotlights one local original at a time. Guest speakers will share the story, lore and legend behind each brand, from a famously bitter liqueur to a landmark hot dog stand with two 12-foot rooftop mascots and the birthplace of deep dish pizza. The lineup includes: • Pizzeria Uno and Pizzeria Due: Birthplace of Chicago’s original deep dish pizza, invented in 1943 • Superdawg: The 1948 drive-in landmark known for its towering hot dog mascots and classic Chicago-style dog • Nuts on Clark: The Wrigleyville popcorn shop and Chicago souvenir stop since 1979 • Mr. Beef: The no-frills River North Italian beef counter made famous worldwide by The Bear • Su Casa: Longtime Chicago Mexican restaurant opened by the same man who invented deep dish pizza • Goose Island Beer Co.: Chicago brewery that kicked off the city’s craft beer scene in 1988 • Jeppson’s Malört: A notoriously bitter, love-it-or-hate-it spirit and Chicago rite of passage Each guest receives a Chicago Original Flavors Passport to encourage visits to participating spots in the weeks after the event. The evening also includes a round of Chicago trivia and other surprises.
