From Open Table: Spanning nearly an entire river-facing city block, NAIA in Chicago from DineAmic Hospitality is one of the most ambitious restaurant openings the city has seen in recent memory. At the culinary helm of this 12,000-square-foot Greek-Levantine concept is Athinagoras Kostakos. He’s a “Top Chef Greece” winner and culinary director of Scorpios in Mykonos and Bodrum. He is also the owner of NOEMA, one of Mykonos Town’s most recognized contemporary restaurants, and a partner in DineAmic’s existing concepts Lyra, Violi, and La Serre. With NAIA, Kostakos moves beyond any single Mediterranean tradition to build something that draws from the whole of the region. “NAIA brings those influences together in one place,” he says in a press release, “celebrating the diversity, vibrancy, and energy of the Mediterranean in a way that feels alive on the Chicago River.” To protect the health of attendees, volunteers and venue staff, this event is being conducted subject to current CDPH guidelines. RNRA encourages compliance with all applicable public health protocols, but is not responsible for the health and safety of event participants.
