The AMVETS Hawaii Community Garden is open to veterans, active duty, families, and neighbors across Ewa Beach. Every Saturday morning we run a tour and orientation for anyone curious about growing their own food. WHAT HAPPENS AT ORIENTATION Walk the garden and see what is growing right now. Learn how plots work and how to claim one. Basics of soil, watering, and what thrives in West Oahu. Composting and pest control that actually works here. Meet the gardeners and get your questions answered. WHY GARDEN WITH US Fresh produce you grew yourself, lower grocery bills, time outside, and a standing reason to see the same friendly faces every week. WHO IT IS FOR Total beginners are the point. Raised beds make plots accessible for gardeners who use wheelchairs or have trouble kneeling. WHAT TO BRING Closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water.
