Join us for a relaxing day outdoors on the Windward side! We’re heading over to Kāneʻohe to explore 400 acres of lush gardens, hang out by the lake under the Koʻolau mountains, and try out free catch-and-release fishing! 📍 Event Details Location: Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden (Kāneʻohe) Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026 Meetup Time: 10:00 AM (Meet near the Visitor Center) Cost: Free! 🎣 Catch-and-Release Fishing (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM) If you want to fish at the reservoir, the garden provides free bamboo poles and bait at the Visitor Center on weekends! It’s 100% catch-and-release, so no prior experience or gear is needed. 🎒 What to Bring Picnic Gear: Feel free to bring lunch, snacks, drinks, and a picnic blanket/towel to hang out on the grass. Fun & Games: Feel free to bring card games, frisbees, or drawing/painting supplies if you’d like. Essentials: Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and a light jacket or umbrella just in case of light rain.
