Wreath Making Workshop at Kaulukanu Farm, Saturday, November 29th

Get creative and have fun making your own wreath with locally sourced foliage and flowers at Kaulukanu Family Farm in Waimanalo! Join us at Kaulukanu Family Farm in Waimanalo on Sunday, November 29th from 4-6 pm for a fun afternoon of wreath making! In this workshop you will learn how to build your own 18" wreath on a straw base using the push pin technique. Spark your creativity and get inspired by texture, color, shape, and contrast with a wide variety of locally sourced foliage & flowers. All materials will be provided. You are welcome to byob. Once you register for this class, location and parking details will be sent with your ticket confirmation email. About the teacher: Aloha, my name is Kalae Kaina, I am a dancer, artist, farmer, and full time student at UH Mānoa pursuing a double major in Hawaiian Studies and Visual Art. I live in Waimānalo with my family building our dream to steward the land we've been blessed with. My grandmother, Kūpuna Kainao Wright, instilled in me a love for lei making. She was a pioneer of the Kūpuna Program in our Kailua public schools, teaching keiki ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian culture. I grew up by her side helping her make lei for the May Day Court, canoe races, and countless special occasions. P.S. We keep bees on our property, our hives are located on the other end of our lot where we set up for lei making, if you are allergic to bees please bring your EpiPen just incase. We do keep one on site, but it would be good if you brought one as well. So far, fingers crossed, we've never had a participant get stung. Mahalo!
