Join TNC's Land Protection Manager, Dan Hannon, for a guided bird walk through Piney Grove Preserve. Discover the sights and sounds of one of Virginia's premier birding destinations during a leisurely walk through The Nature Conservancy's Piney Grove Preserve. The preserve provides critical habitat for a remarkable diversity of species, including Virginia’s rarest bird, the red-cockaded woodpecker. Expect an easy walk with plenty of stops for birdwatching, questions and discussion. Whether you're an avid birder or simply curious about the natural world, this walk offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, sharpen your observation skills, and enjoy the beauty of the preserve. Additional details • Max participants: 20 • Trail Difficulty: Easy • Free and open to the public • No bathroom facilities. No pets. • Bring: snacks/lunch, water, bugspray, and sunscreen.
