When does self-improvement become pressure? Explore the psychology of productivity, wellness, and the feeling that we're never doing enough. A Conversation on the Psychology of Productivity and Wellness Join a therapist for Is Self-Improvement Making Us Miserable?, an engaging and thought-provoking conversation about the psychology behind our obsession with productivity, wellness, and self-improvement. We live in a world that encourages us to optimize everything, from our morning routines and careers to our relationships, health, and mental well-being. We're tracking our sleep, counting our steps, adding protein to everything, and constantly looking for ways to become better versions of ourselves. But when does the desire to grow turn into feeling like we're never quite enough? Together, we'll explore why doing more doesn't always make us feel better, how even healthy habits can become another source of pressure, and why slowing down can sometimes feel so uncomfortable. What We'll Cover: • The psychology of doing more - Explore why we're driven to constantly achieve, optimize, and improve, and whether it actually makes us feel better. • When growth becomes pressure - Examine how even healthy habits and self-improvement can turn into another source of stress, self-criticism, and never feeling like enough. • Redefining what it means to thrive - Discover how slowing down, finding balance, and letting go of constant optimization can help us build a more fulfilling life. Whether you're a high achiever, a chronic overthinker, or someone who's simply tired of feeling like there's always something else to improve, this conversation invites you to rethink what it means to grow, find balance, and enjoy your life without treating yourself like a never-ending project. Don't miss this chance to connect with your After5Society. About The Speaker: Sehrish Ali, PhD, LPC-S, CEDS-C, is a licensed therapist and founder of Guided Growth Collective, a Houston-based psychotherapy practice.
