This is a beginner-friendly experience designed for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of Catrina makeup in a fun, hands-on setting. You'll apply your own makeup while learning techniques, practicing your brushwork, and receiving guidance throughout the class. Whether you're preparing for Día de Muertos, a Catrina celebration, or simply want to learn a new creative skill, you'll leave with new techniques, your own starter supplies, and the foundation to continue creating your Catrina looks at home. What You'll Learn We'll break the Catrina makeup process down into approachable, beginner-friendly techniques: • Skin Preparation & Priming: Preparing your skin for a smooth, long-lasting makeup application. • Creating the Base: Learning how to apply and work with the Catrina base. • Face Definition: Creating dimension and defining your features. • Eye Makeup: Building the eye look and practicing basic blending techniques. • Catrina Details: Practicing the nose, mouth, and decorative elements. • Brushstroke Techniques: Learning how to create clean lines and decorative details through guided practice worksheets. • Hands-On Guidance: You'll work on your own look while I walk around the class, answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and help you troubleshoot your application. Your Take-Home Catrina Makeup Kit Each student will receive a starter kit to help you continue practicing at home: • 15-color eyeshadow palette • Sample-size Mehron paints • Set of 10 brushes for line work • Blending brush for eyeshadow and foundation • Powder brush • Makeup sponge • Tracing paper for practice worksheets • Face rhinestones • Makeup face chart Additional Supplies Provided The following supplies will be available for everyone to use during the class: • Mirrors • Glitter • Face gems • Matte lip creams • Base Foundation • Gem/glitter adhesive • Setting powder • Setting spray What You Should Bring To help you create a look that reflects your own style, I recommend bringing: • Black eyeliner • Your favorite lip color • Any other makeup products you'd like to incorporate into your look • Your personal makeup brushes if it's easier for you to use Enjoy the Experience Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available throughout the class. And don't forget after class, capture the moment at our Cempasúchil (Marigold) floral backdrop and take photos to remember your experience. Come dressed in your favorite Catrina-inspired look or bring accessories you'd like to incorporate into your photos. Limited Spots Available I'm intentionally keeping this class small so I can give you meaningful hands-on guidance throughout the experience. I want to be able to walk around the room, look at your makeup, help you improve your lines and details, answer your questions, and actually teach you. Important Note About Class Format This is a group class, so instruction and guidance are shared among all students. If you're looking for more personalized, one-on-one instruction or help building your individual makeup kit, private makeup lessons are also available.
