Box Tower Making with Corita Arts Center @ sister dreamer.

Join us as we build Corita-inspired box towers in preparation for Corita Day 2026 (November 7 at SCI-Arc)! Inspired by Corita Kent's 1967 "Survival With Style" exhibition where she and her students transformed over 1,500 cardboard boxes into a bold, room-sized installation. Our community will come together to design and decorate our own 18x18x18" boxes using paint, collage, and mixed materials. Corita Art Center is excited to welcome the Summaeverythang community to participate in a collaborative art workshop. Led by Desiree Sanchez, and inspired by Corita Kent’s art and ethos, we will collectively create a box tower! Together, we will decide on the theme and message, using paint, collage, and other materials and techniques to create a mural out of large cardboard boxes. The finished artwork will be displayed at the Corita Day Festival on November 7 in DTLA’s Arts District. No art experience needed — just come ready to create, collaborate, and add your voice to the wall.
