Andrew's Video Void presents: THE ARRIVAL

With the blessing of The Unarius Academy of Science, Andrew's Video Void is proud to present the THE ARRIVAL to KC for the first time! dir. Ruth Norman // 1980 // 53 mins // English With the blessing of The Unarius Academy of Science, American Genre Film Archive and Andrew's Video Void are proud to present the first theatrical release of the truly spectacular DIY sci-fi lodestone, THE ARRIVAL to Kansas City! In the latter half of the 20th century, the Unariuns were on a radical mission to spread their “interdimensional science of life” and principles of past-life therapy via some of the most wildly inventive public access TV programming ever seen. The culmination of their philosophy is THE ARRIVAL, filmed on a shoestring budget with a time-bending plot, dazzling optical SFX, and a rousing synth score. THE ARRIVAL stands in luminous contrast to the overall darker, conspiratorial air of Eighties culture—and Unariuns claim the film serves as a catalyst to send viewers into transcended states of ecstasy. Also included is a 30-minute mixtape of rarely-seen iconic moments from the Unarius video archive!
