Garden Connections

A CPG forum for sharing ideas, learning from one another, and strengthening gardens. Join fellow KCCG Community Partner Garden coordinators and active garden leaders for an evening of connection, conversation, and shared ideas at Pendleton Heights Community Garden. We’ll start with a casual Garden Happy Hour with beverages and light snacks, followed by a Garden Spotlight featuring Whitney Barnardo and Pendleton Heights Community Garden. Whitney will share their experience with community engagement, followed by time for questions and conversation. The evening will also include a CPG Forum where we’ll talk about what worked this season, what was challenging, ideas worth sharing, and resources KCCG can develop over the winter to help strengthen gardens next season. Event Schedule 5:00–5:25 PM — Garden Happy Hour Arrive, grab a beverage and light snack, and connect with other CPG coordinators and garden leaders. 5:25–5:30 PM — Welcome A brief welcome and overview of the evening. 5:30–5:50 PM — Garden Spotlight Whitney Barnardo shares the story of Pendleton Heights Community Garden with a focus on community engagement, followed by questions and conversation. 5:50–6:50 PM — CPG Forum A facilitated discussion about successes, challenges, shared ideas, and resources KCCG can create over the winter. 6:50–7:00 PM — Takeaways & Next Steps Thursday, September 24, 2026 5:00–7:00 PM Pendleton Heights Community Garden 2125 Minnie St, Kansas City, MO 64124 Open to KCCG Community Partner Garden coordinators and active garden members. Partners and children are welcome to attend. Beverages and light snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring a snack to share.
