Full description from organizer

Think bluegrass, Americana, & gospel. Songs you’d NEVER expect then add great storytelling & showmanship...pure entertainment! JIMBO WHALEY & GREENBRIER... These Station Favorites - are a high-energy East Tennessee bluegrass band that turns traditional roots music into a lively, crowd-pleasing show. Jimbo Whaley, a Pigeon Forge native raised in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains, co-founded the acclaimed Pine Mountain Railroad in 1998. The group earned consecutive IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year nominations, and their album, The Old Radio, (with the hit title track co-written by Roscoe Morgan) became a long-running staple on the bluegrass charts. Jimbo has performed at the IBMA Songwriter Showcase, contributed original songs (and made an on-screen appearance) for the film Bell Witch: The Movie, and was the featured performer at its sold-out Ryman Auditorium premiere concert. With Greenbrier, he delivers traditional bluegrass, heartfelt originals drawn from Appalachian life (songs like “Kings of Orebank,” “Grandpa’s Pocket Knife,” and story-driven material), gospel numbers, and unexpected covers that keep audiences smiling - think a bluegrass take on Prince’s “Purple Rain” or John Denver’s “Thank God I’m a Country Boy.” The band mixes tight picking, strong vocals, and genuine fun. Jimbo is widely known as a warm, engaging entertainer who connects with the crowd and makes every show feel personal. Fans who discover The Station in this converted historic space with its exceptional acoustics often say the same thing: “How has this place stayed such a secret?” Everyone who - both the audiences and the artists - love it at The Station. Friday, October 23 at The Station is the perfect chance for newcomers to experience why locals return year after year. Authentic East Tennessee bluegrass, a gifted showman, and one of the region’s most special small venues - come hear why people can’t stop talking about both the band and the room.
