Trees as Medicine & Plant Ancestors Our relationship with the land holds stories, wisdom, and medicine passed down through generations. 🌳 Learn from Knoxville-based food activist, social entrepreneur, Plant Alchemist, and Foodways Practitioner Femeika Elliott for an evening of reconnecting with our ancestral plant knowledge and the urban canopy around us. Femeika’s work centers food justice, holistic wellness, cultural preservation, and the reclamation of ancestral practices. As co-founder of Rooted East Knoxville Collective, she works to address food inequities by connecting community members to fresh food, growing practices, and deeper knowledge of our local food systems. Her background in social work, whole foods education, sacred medicine, and ancestral practices shapes her approach to community health and land stewardship. Together, we’ll explore Afrilachian herbal medicine, the healing uses of native trees, and the ways our ancestors understood plants as sources of nourishment, wellness, and connection. We’ll also create our own herbal medicine to take home. 🌿❤️🌍
