Indigenous Peoples' Day Event: Traditional Inipi and Potluck Meal

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day with a traditional Inipi (Sweat Lodge Ceremony) and a delicious potluck meal together! Join Us for Our Indigenous Peoples' Day Event Guided by a Descendant of a Laramie Treaty Signer and Lakota Head Chief Elk Head Come celebrate and connect with our community at the Traditional Inipi (Sweat Lodge) ceremony followed by a Potluck Meal. This is an in-person gathering to honor Indigenous cultures, share stories, and enjoy some great food together. Bring your favorite dish to share and an open heart. After the Potluck there will be a special screening of a short documentary film - Shadow Prints- Honoring Elk Head Donations towards this event gratefully accepted Items to Pack • Two Towels: One towel to sit on or use for modesty inside the lodge, and a second towel for drying off after the ceremony. • Change of Clothes: A completely dry, comfortable outfit to wear home. • Footwear: Easy slip-on shoes like flip-flops or old sneakers that are easy to take off and put on in the dirt. • Tobacco Offering: Loose smoking tobacco or traditional prayer ties as a gift of respect for the lodge keeper or fire tender (check local protocol for color and cloth requirements). • Water Bottle: A reusable bottle filled with water to rehydrate after the ceremony concludes. There is no potable water on site, so be sure to bring more than you think you need. • Potluck Dish: A simple food item or dish to share during the community feast held after the sweat
