Native Plant Winter Sowing Party 2026

Let's get our hands dirty with some winter sowing fun, growing native plants from seed to support pollinators and birds. Grow some native plants to help pollinators and birds! "Winter sowing" is the easiest and cheapest way to propagate native plants. Plants are naturally cold-stratified and cold-hardened by sitting outside through winter in mini "greenhouses" made of empty gallon jugs. Some people also use this method to grow vegetable plants! No experience necessary. Instruction, soil, and seeds provided. Please message the organizer (Erika Fitz) if you have some extra native plant seeds or empty gallon jugs to share! Sponsored by Gardens Gone Native and Lancaster Friends Meeting Landscape Committee.
