Full description from organizer

This 2-day training for physicians and advanced practice providers presents the standard of care for resuscitation of trauma patients. ATLS Provider Course Join us for an exciting in-person event, the ATLS Provider Course! This two-day course will be held at Bryan Medical Center West Campus - Birthplace of ATLS. 2300 South 16th Street, Lincoln, NE, 68502. The Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) program will teach you a systematic, concise approach to the care of a trauma patient. This two-day Traditional ATLS course includes a pretest, hands on skills, and post testing. Successful candidates will be awarded four-year certification. All courses are conducted according to the guidelines of the American College of Surgeons. The vision of ATLS was birthed here at Bryan Medical Center, formally known as Lincoln General Hospital, by Dr. James K. Styner after a tragic 1976 event in which a plane Dr. Styner was piloting, crashed into a Nebraska cornfield with his family, causing severe injuries to his 3 children and the death of his wife. Using the educational structure of the recently developed ACLS program, the first ATLS course was run in Nebraska in 1978. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) further developed ATLS and in1980 it was introduced to domestic and international audiences. This course will provide you with a safe and reliable method for immediate management of the critically injured patient. The course will teach you how to assess a patient’s condition, resuscitate and stabilize him or her, and determine if his or her needs exceed a facility’s capacity. It also covers how to arrange for a patient’s inter-hospital transfer and assure that optimum care is provided throughout the process. If you don’t treat trauma patients frequently, an ATLS course provides an easy method to remember for evaluation and treatment of a trauma victim. Target Audience Intended for licensed physicians, surgeons, and advanced practice health care providers, (NP/PA). Continuing Education 16.0 contact hours will be provided the American College of Surgeons. Cost Cost is $700 which includes ATLS® manual, breakfast, and lunch. Cancellation / Withdrawal / No Show Less than 4 weeks from the start of the course, or no-show participants, there will be a $100 fee for materials. Eventbrite fees are non-refundable.
